Start with one thing that matters.
- Choose the areas that matter to you and add a goal.
- When Proof asks what you’re taking on today, choose the work you want to do.
- Add a time block if it helps. Untimed work is fine, too.
- Start a focus session or log progress when you do the work.
Questions about Proof
How do I edit a goal or its steps?
Open Goals and select the goal. Its detail view lets you edit the goal and manage steps, substeps and notes. Choose difficulty and priority, and reorder steps to match how you want to work.
Where do I plan my time?
Open the schedule from Today. You can use a list, daily timeline or weekly grid. Timing is optional, and you can adjust the plan as your day changes.
How do I focus on a particular step?
Open Focus and choose the goal or step the session belongs to. Start the session, pause when needed, and finish it to record the time you put in.
Why does my score show a dash?
A dash means the day is unscored. Proof does not show zero just because data is incomplete. Open a score to understand its inputs. Missing integration data reduces confidence rather than counting as a failure.
Why isn’t Health or Screen Time working?
Check the connection in Proof’s Settings and the permission in iOS Settings or Apple Health. HealthKit and Screen Time require a real device; they do not work in the Simulator. Screen Time also requires individual authorisation, a selected app or category, and an enabled rule. You can still use manual logging and the focus timer. If the connection still fails, contact support; do not share private Health records in a public report.
How do I add a widget?
Touch and hold an empty area of the iPhone Home Screen, open Edit, then Add Widget. Find Proof, choose a widget and add it. Open Proof to refresh your day’s records.
Why is my Watch showing old data?
Open Proof on your paired iPhone to refresh the Watch’s copy of your day. The iPhone maintains the records, and Watch actions are sent back to it. A disconnected Watch may show its last available state.
Can I export or delete my data?
Open Settings → Your data to export your local records. Settings also offers deletion of Proof’s local data. An export leaves the app only for the destination you choose. Previously shared exports and Apple backups must be managed separately.
Do I need an account or subscription?
No account is required: everything except Social works without one, and Social needs only Sign in with Apple. Proof is free and has no active paid subscription. Optional integrations can be declined or revoked.
Social
How do I find people?
Open the Social tab and sign in with Apple. Search by @username, follow a suggestion, scan someone's QR code, or open a profile link they share. Proof never reads your contacts.
What gets posted, and who sees it?
Only the kinds you turn on: focus sessions, goals done and milestones, and, if you choose, workouts and steps from Apple Health. Posts show a purpose label like "Work · focus", not your goal's name. They go to followers you approve. Keep any goal off the feed, pause posting, or post only to yourself in Settings → Posting.
How do I report, block or mute someone?
Use the ••• menu on a post or profile, or touch and hold a comment. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours, and "Also block" is on by default. Blocking hides each of you from the other; muting quietly hides their posts and notifications. Settings → Blocked and muted lists everyone. You can also email support.
Why didn't I get a notification?
Check Settings → Social notifications. Kudos arrive at most once an hour for each post, and nothing arrives during quiet hours; a summary follows when they end. Everything is always in the bell on the Social tab.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account → Delete account. It is immediate and removes everything you shared. Your goals on your iPhone stay until you choose Delete all data.
