Version 2.0 · Effective 24 October 2026

Your behaviour
is yours.

This policy describes Proof: Daily Accountability, developed by Ayush Gupta, for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.

Proof works fully without an account. Your goals, notes, progress, scores, schedules, Apple Health and Screen Time data are processed on your devices. If you choose to join Social, only what you choose to post, and what's needed to run your account, is stored, as described below. Proof has no advertising, no tracking and no configured analytics-upload service.

Local records

Proof stores the information you enter and the results it calculates in local app storage. Small summaries are shared with its widgets and extensions through an Apple App Group. Its Apple Watch companion exchanges your day’s summary and actions with your paired iPhone through Apple’s WatchConnectivity. Proof does not provide developer-operated cloud storage or account sync. Device backups are governed by your Apple settings.

Apple Health

If you enable a relevant goal and grant permission, Proof reads the Health data needed for that goal, such as steps, workouts or activity. Where you explicitly enable recording, it can write sessions created through Proof. Health data is used locally for progress. It is never sold or used for advertising, and it is uploaded only if you turn on posting workouts in Social (see below). Manage access in Apple Health or iOS Settings.

Screen Time

With your authorisation, Proof uses Apple’s Family Controls, Device Activity and Managed Settings services for the apps or categories you select. Apple provides privacy-preserving selection tokens and usage information to authorised app components. Proof does not read messages, browsing contents or what you do inside another app. Screen Time data is not sent to analytics or data brokers. Restrictions require your authorisation and an enabled rule.

Calendars and notifications

If you connect a calendar, Proof reads enabled calendar events locally to help plan around existing commitments. Notifications and reminders are scheduled on your device according to your settings. These features do not require a developer-operated server. You can revoke access in iOS Settings.

Social (optional)

You can sign in with Apple to join Proof's Social tab: follow people, and let what you finish post to the people you approve. Signing in is optional. Your goals, notes, scores and schedules are never uploaded.

When you join Social, Proof stores:

Who sees what. Your name, @username and bio can be found by people using Proof. Your posts are seen by the followers you approve (or only by you, if you choose). Comments are seen by people who can see the post. Your profile shows your followers how many days you posted this week and your current streak, and your weekly focus minutes only if you turn that on; posts only you can see never count. Each post shows when it happened. Nobody sees your email, your private goals, your score, or anything from Screen Time. When you search for people, the search is used to find matches and is not stored.

These records are stored with Supabase, Inc., which provides the database and sign-in service. Its sign-in service keeps security logs of sign-ins, which include IP addresses. Push notifications are delivered through Apple's Push Notification service. The records are used only to run Social, keep it safe, and measure, in aggregate, how much it's used. They are not sold, used for advertising or data mining, or combined with Screen Time data.

Retention. Posts, comments and kudos stay until you delete them or your account. Activity in the bell is deleted after 90 days. Your private history stays on your device.

Deleting your account. In Proof, open Settings → Account → Delete account. Deletion is immediate. It removes your account and everything you shared, and asks Apple to remove Proof from your Apple ID. If Apple can't confirm, you can remove Proof in the Settings app under your name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple. Your goals on your device are not affected; delete those with Settings → Delete all data. Signing out removes Social data from your device and stops its notifications there.

Safety and reports

You can report any post, comment or profile, and mute or block anyone. A report includes the reason you chose and any note you add. It is reviewed by the developer within 24 hours, and objectionable content is removed and abusive accounts suspended. Reports about you never reveal who made them. Reports you make are deleted with your account. If you delete your account, reports other people made about you are kept, no longer linked to your account, as a record of moderation decisions.

Social notifications

If you allow notifications, Proof can tell you about comments, follow requests, new followers, accepted requests and kudos (kudos at most once an hour for each post). Nothing arrives during your quiet hours (22:00–07:00 unless you change them); one summary follows. Notifications never show a goal's title or what a comment says. Choose which kinds you get in Settings → Social notifications.

Diagnostics and local analytics

Proof keeps limited diagnostic and usage-event records locally to support troubleshooting. Usage events describe actions and counts rather than goal titles, notes, health values or Screen Time contents. This release has no configured transport to upload analytics. You can manage analytics in Settings. A diagnostic report or data export leaves the app only when you choose to share it. Apple may independently process crash or usage diagnostics under your Apple privacy settings and Apple’s policies.

Export, deletion and support

You can export your records or delete Proof’s local data from Settings. Previously shared exports and operating-system backups must be managed at their respective destinations. If you contact support or create a public GitHub issue, the information you choose to provide is processed by that service and the developer to answer your request. Please avoid including private goals or health data in a public issue.

Website

This website is hosted on Vercel and contains no advertising, tracking scripts or developer analytics. Fonts and images are served from this site. Vercel may process technical request information, such as IP addresses and request logs, under its privacy policy. The legacy support address is hosted on GitHub Pages and redirects here; GitHub may process those requests under its own privacy policy.

Changes and questions

If a future release changes these practices, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated. Version 1.0 of this policy, effective 5 October 2026, applied to releases without accounts. For privacy questions, email Ayush Gupta or visit Proof support. Do not include sensitive records in public posts.
